Bill Wiman earned his M.F.A. degree from the University of Florida. He has been included in over ninety exhibitions in the United States including twenty-two one-person exhibitions in nine states. His work is represented in seventeen public collections in six states including the Butler Institute of American Art, the San Antonio Museum of Art, the McNay Art Institute, and the Oklahoma Art Center. His work has been reviewed in Art News, Arts Magazine, and Art Forum. He was profiled in the book 50 Texas Artists, A Critical Selection of Painters and Sculptors.

Wiman is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Art at The University of Texas at Austin. He is the recipient of a Ford Foundation Grant. He received the first Teaching Excellence Award in the Department of Art and Art History and the Eyes of Texas Excellence in Teaching Award. He is an elected member of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers at The University of Texas.

Wiman’s work is currently represented by the Davis Gallery in Austin.
